Need More Time?

Technical diving requires skill, stamina and mental aptitude and some students may need additional time to complete the course.

For this reason we offer additional time with a technical instructor at the rate of $250.00 a day plus the cost of boat trips.

TECHNICAL CLOSED CIRCUIT REBREATHER DIVER

Rebreathers are starting to dominate technical diving and are also gaining popularity within recreational diving. When you consider the huge advantages of seemingly unlimited gas supplies, plus warm moist air to breathe coupled with the ability to get up close and personal with marine life; its easy to see why.

The IANTD Closed Circuit Rebreather Diver program is a technical level course designed to train competent divers in the safer use and technology of CCR for dives requiring up to 15 minutes of decompression. It is also especially useful to train divers who wish to dive up to 160 fsw (48 msw) if using diluent with helium or 140 fsw (42 msw) if using air as a diluent.

"Silent World were the only choice for my rebreather purchase and training. I got a great deal and first rate training all the way up to CCR trimix!"

Equipment

Purchasing a rebreather is an exhilerating and exciting experience. Some people like to pour over technical specifications for hours one end, consulting fellow divers, potential instructors, internet forums and local dive shops for advice. Other people prefer to let their instructor take the pain out of the process and make the decisions for them. Whether its a new rebreather or associated equipment & accessories, Chris Brown & Silent World can help you with the transition to bubbleless diving.
Equipment Required for the Course: • Closed Circuit Rebreather either rented or purchased through Silent World.
• Open Circuit Bailout cylinder of 30cuft or more coplete with regulator, SPG and 2nd stage
• IANTD Student Kit
• Personal Items for your gear bag: Spare cells, spare solenoid & computer batteries, Backup mask, wetnotes, cutting devices, jon line, backup computer, SMB or liftbag, reel and safety spool

Silent World offers discounts to all of our students and equipment packages that will meet all of your equipment needs. Although we highly suggest personal equipment ownership we do offer all items for rent.

What You Will Learn

• Knowledge Development. Much of the classwork can be done prior to the start of class via Conference call with Skype, iChat or similar. A combination of slideshows, bookwork and practical lecture will give the student an understanding of mixed gas diving with helium and a more in depth look at CNS Oxygen Tocicity, DCS, decompression procedures and dive planning
• Confined Water Dives to familiarize yourself with the rebreather, managing loop volume, emergency & failure drills and correct weighting.
• Over 300 minutes on the Benwood, deep ledges, Spiegel Grove, Duane and / or Bibb. The class culminates with deco dives, max 245' for around 90 minutes each

What Makes Us Different

Silent World's owner Chris Brown is passionate about rebreathers. Its his hobby and his life. His belief is that expertise on closed circuit rebreathers comes from both education and experience. There is no short cutting either aspect and only by spending many hundreds of hours on a rebreather will you even begin to master them. In fact, many experienced divers say that the more they learn about rebreathers, the more they realize they have more to learn! With Chris Brown and his team, you can be assured that you are training with someone that is not only highly trained and experienced, but alos someone that sees the best and worst habits of rebreather divers every day on our technical dive charters. This provides an invaluable insight and level of experience about various training methods, reliability and performance of all the available units on the market and best practice in dive techniques. Chris is often sought out by prospective students for his laid back style, knowledge and experience in technical diver training. Chris owns the worlds largest internet forum for technical divers www.thedecostop.com and has extensive experience in teaching ocean technical decompression diving.
