| Watching the 100's of amazing fish that inhabit the reef
is one of the primary reasons many of us dive. And the more we know
about them the more fun it is. Some fish, like the Green Moray Eel are
a no brainer... It's long and slithery, it's green, it must be a green
moray! Others like the Squirrelfish take a bit more detective work. No
fish that I'm aware of has a long furry tail and carries nuts in their
cheeks. This class will help you answer the question, what da heck
is that ! |

| During the class you will learn to recognize many of the
common reef fishes. But more important (and more fun) you will learn to
be an underwater detective. Learning how to identify fish by their
colors, markings, shape and where you spotted them and what they were
doing. It's bird watching underwater. You are encouraged to start a
life-list on your next trip. A listing of all the different fish you've
seen. This list will grow quickly as you recognize more and more fish.
You will soon be searching out fish you have yet to see by knowing what
to look for and where to look.
