Project AWARE Underwater & Beach Clean-Up

Held Annually Since 1996.
Join us this year on the 4th Saturday in September!

This even takes place this year on the 4th Saturday in September
as part of a worldwide cleanup event for The Project
Aquatic World Awareness Responsibility and Education Foundation. During the cleanup event, all debris collected is recorded before it is disposed of. The data collected is used to educate the public and develop solutions to solid waste management practices.

Fall is a beautiful time of year at the Sheboygan Quarry. Non diving friends and family are welcome to join you and help clean up the shoreline areas. Make it a fun family outing! You will be amazed at the strange things we find in the quarry every year. Among the bottles and cans you would expect to find are "treasures" that make you scratch your head and wonder who tossed that in... In recent years participants have found: Countless golf balls, golf discs, a box of love letters, a leg brace complete with attached shoe, a Nash hub cap with 3 bullet holes, and a full sized couch! No change or remote was found in the cushions.

Make plans to join us for our next clean up! It's a perfect opportunity for new or advanced divers to blow bubbles, and help take care of one of our local dive sites. Even non-divers can join this fun event and enjoy the scenery of our beautiful quarry. We always offer a special on rental equipment for this event, so reserve early!

UNDERWATER PUMPKIN CARVING

Held annually since 1991!
Join us this year on the 3rd Saturday in October.

Always a favorite because it's a ton-o-fun. And 100% of the proceeds go to Public Television Channels 10/36. Prizes are awarded in several categories and a drawing is held so that everyone is a winner!

The rules are simple. Carving must take place underwater while on scuba. Only dive knives may be used. Any outlines or drawings used for carving must also be done underwater. Decorations and or accessories may be used after carving. Be creative!

This is one of our most popular events. The quarry is typically clear this time of year and  the trees are turning colors. It is a great way to have some fun and help out a worthy cause.
